Our Daughters And Sons To Work® Day is a registered trademark
of the Ms. Foundation for Women. This day is an effort to empower
young girls and boys ages nine to fifteen by exposing them to positive
role models in the world of work. Also the day is designed to focus
on girls' and boys' ideals, needs, and dreams – and help ensure
that girls and sons remain CONFIDENT, STRONG, and IN SCHOOL throughout
their teen years. The Coalition has been participating in this annual
national event since 1996. The Coalition coordinates a partnership
with a middle school in the Jackson Public School District and Jackson
State University (JSU) where JSU departments agree to "adopt
a daughter or a son for a day."
